It's a place where locals come to unwind and socialize in this busy tourist town. Pop in, share a joke or two, maybe stretch the truth a bit, and just enjoy some laid-back time. It's a spot where you can truly be yourself.
We haven't visited Belleview Tavern in a year, but the chicken fingers served on Friday nights are still delicious and priced the same at $9. Everything else seems to be unchanged as well. Just a reminder, a pitcher of beer still costs $10.
This is a cozy, family-run bar that attracts mainly local residents in the evenings. The menu is limited and based on what the kitchen is preparing that day, but the homemade food is tasty, though not gourmet. Prices are very affordable for both drinks and meals. Some days they serve sausage and sauerkraut, while other days it's cabbage rolls. If you're looking for a hidden gem of a local dive bar, this is the place to go for a drink.
Only the locals know about this bar. It has only one beer on tap (Labatt's Blue) $10 for a large pitcher. We had chicken wings, 20 for $10 and chicken strips that came with french fries and onion rings for $9. Both were excellent. There were a lot of chicken strips, more than I could eat. I think my husband and I could have shared the chicken strips and still had more than enough. The tavern is clean, with a limited menu but the food is hot and cheap with very large portions.
The Belleview is a simple Blue Collar establishment that has been a Niagara fixture for longer than I can remember. A place to meet the regular folks who live in this bustling tourist burg. Stop in, tell a joke , tell a couple lies, relax. Here you can be yourself.
