Mountkennedy Inn - Newtownmountkennedy

I had called in to the Newtown mount Kennedy Bar as I was waiting for my wife who was at a function nearby , and I must say the food was lovely, really friendly staff and very reasonable pricing , I would definitely go back again I had chicken tenders and sticky toffee pudding Would highly recommend!

Smart but also, equally, a friendly place with great food and fabulous service, good for meeting, eating and just being happy. I was here for my Bloomsday birthday, which I usually spend in Dublin. I 've been looking for a while for something quieter, but still accessible to the city I have to count as my fave of all time. In Newtownmountkennedy I 've found a place where a chilled Irish enjoyment is its middle name. It 's got a Dunnes and a local grocer 's, too; a great couple of coffee places; a lovely hotel in the Parkview; an hourly bus into Dublin town just in front of the same as well as other local services, all amazingly priced; and more importantly than any of this the Mountkennedy Inn. As I said at the top, it 's one of the smartest eateries and pubs I 've been in, but it 's welcoming too; doesn 't make you feel out of place or a stranger in any way; just says how yer doing , and then professionally takes it from there. Tomorrow I leave Ireland for a bit, but I aim to make Newtownmountkennedy a future base. And I hope at some time not *too* far in the future. County Wicklow and its peoples are ace. Really really grand. Dunno why I hadn 't stumbled across this place of clear air with its gentle edge of sharp intake of breath sooner. But now I have.

First time to visit and we will be back. Excellent food, lovely staff, great atmosphere, live music and stunning decor. I had the thai red curry which was delicious others in my group had fish, burgers, steak and all were delicious.

Extremely quick service, on a busy Sunday evening. Friendly and attentive staff. Would recommend eating (and drinking) there, next time you’re in Newtownmountkennedy.

Arrived on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. Thought it would be busy but no one in place. Nice welcome from waitress. Ordered then told sorry only carvery on Sunday. Wait not too long. Pleasant enough carvery €15. Pricey for one piece of beef on plate. Didn’t stay too long.
