Cittavino - Newtown

Stopped in here for a drink before dinner with friends. Very good wines and great decor. The owner was abrupt with one of my friends here too. We arrived at the same time as another group and seating us all seemed a problem. Expletives muttered under breath were heard! Other staff were friendly. Worth a try, shame about the aggro.

I am a wine affectionado through and through. I've got very, very high expectations when I go to a proper wine bar. And I know a good drop from spin. This place had the right business model. Great wine, $10 a glass, friendly and knowledgeable staff - and wine that was a little different but beautiful. Don't tell anyone - keep this gem a secret. Very highly recommend.

Back again after a few months we were delighted to see this place and is still delivering great wines. The owner is very accomodating and down to earth and has an ever changing list of reds whites and roses from all over europe. He also supplies great bar snacks to enjoy with your wine. The atmosphere is relaxed with a large shared table taking centre stage. You can also buy a great range of wine here.

Marco does a great job, making you feel at home and homing in on ideal wines for your specific taste. My wife and I discovered it about 2 years ago, moved away from the area and it fell out if our conscience. Visited again last night and it was great. Well worth a visit. Just sit back and let Marco do the work for you.

We have always received a friendly welcome and excellent service here. A wide range of old world European and some aussie wines by the glass. Conplimentary snacks are offered and the staff are very friendly and unpretentious. Great selection of wines to buy as well.
