Perhaps my memory is bad, but I had thought they had people constantly waiting in the past. I 'd describe the food as 'homey dim sum ' with the regional focus on Taiwan. Simple, direct dishes without any fussy 'interpretation. ' Service was fast and efficient. And with fewer people waiting to get in, I felt more relaxed to eat without the pressure to leave and make room for the next guests.
It’s hard to find this place since it doesn’t have a clear sign. The food is authentic and good. The resturant is not too big so it could get quite crowded.
We had a couple of unpleasant experiences with the female owner, who was very rude. Her loud voice towards people waiting near the entrance also spoiled our appetites. The food was not authentic Taiwanese at all, and certain dishes had strange tastes. The staff were very pushy in trying to turn the tables quickly, giving us the check without asking and taking away dishes before we had finished. Overall, we will not be returning to this restaurant.
The reviews are accurate, this restaurant is quite good! I'm not usually a fan of Chinese food, but once in a while it's worth it! The atmosphere is cozy, and while there's nothing particularly special about this place, the food is delicious. The service is excellent, the food is absolutely fantastic, and the prices are reasonable. If you're in the area, definitely give it a try.
The restaurant offers a variety of dim sum dishes, including savory soy milk, Peking meat sauce noodles, scallion pancake rolls, and pork steamed rolls (xiaolongbao). The savory soy milk was tasty and came with youtiao pieces, although it was slightly sour compared to other versions I have tried. I would like to try the sweet soy milk next time with a side order of youtiao. The Peking meat sauce noodles were decent, but I personally prefer the sweeter Korean version. The scallion pancake roll was amazing, with a crispy fried pancake and delicate bark slices. I would definitely order that again. The xiaolongbao were quite basic in my opinion and nothing special. The restaurant was busy, but the service was quick and efficient.
