The pork fried rice and beef lo mein noodles are also delicious. The prices for lunch are very reasonable. It's a hidden gem with quick service and plenty of nearby parking. We will definitely be returning for takeout. Show your support for this place!
This upscale Chinese restaurant may not have an authentic or old-school style, but it offers a modern spin on traditional Chinese cuisine. While the prices may be high, the quality of the food is generally worth it, with some dishes having a wow factor. The atmosphere is pleasant, the service is professional, and the food is elevated beyond typical takeout fare. The egg rolls, made with beef instead of pork, have a crunchy shell and a flavorful filling. The pork spareribs are a standout dish, moist and generously glazed with a red sauce. The boneless spareribs are also juicy and delicious. The pork fried rice is light, but not the best accompaniment to the other dishes. The shrimp and lobster sauce is tasty and not overly salty, with a choice of white or dark sauce. The General Tso's chicken has a great flavor and unexpected heat from Thai chili peppers. The sizzling chicken with black bean sauce is tender and well-flavored. The udon noodles with vegetables are thick and lightly sauced, with mostly broccoli and carrots. Overall, Bernard's offers clean and natural Chinese food that is satisfying without leaving you feeling guilty. While some dishes may not be perfect, the fantastic ribs, chicken, and other entrees make it a must-visit for Chinese food lovers.
ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! Prices are reasonable and literally everything we ordered was amazing. The salt pepper calamari was the best, and the crispy vinegar shrimp were to die for!
I stopped by for lunch on a quiet, lazy, rainy day and enjoyed the atmosphere. It was easy to have a few cocktails, but I opted for water. I couldn't resist trying the bone-in spare ribs after reading reviews. The price for the appetizer during lunch was a bit steep at $20.95 for six ribs. A half-sized portion for half the price would have been a better option. I ordered the shrimp in lobster sauce Boston style, which came with white rice, 2 crab Rangoon, and broccoli. The broccoli was lacking seasoning and was tough and flavorless compared to steamed broccoli in a teriyaki sauce. The crab Rangoon was good, but I might have preferred a spring roll instead. The entree also came with a soup, which included egg drop and tomato egg drop. I was pleasantly surprised to see tomato egg drop soup at a Chinese restaurant, and it was actually very tasty. The food overall was of high quality and the restaurant seemed well-established. The ribs were excellent, similar to beef barbecue ribs at a smoke shop barbecue spot, but with a Chinese twist.
I stumbled into this place with friends while waiting for the movies nearby. This actually had a really good Chinese menu. The place is really clean and staff was friendly and I had the best boneless spareribs, peking raviolis and general Gaos chicken. I would love to come back here again.
