Aki Japanese Kitchen - Newton

I’ve been eager to try this restaurant for a while, and I finally had the opportunity. Due to COVID, they are currently offering takeout only, so I called in my order and waited. While I waited, my wife decided to get a haircut at the salon next door, so I ended up eating my meal in my car. The food was fantastic, and while I was enjoying it, an employee unexpectedly came to my window with some napkins, apologizing for not realizing I was dining in my car. I’ve experienced worse service at restaurants where I was sitting at a table! The food was excellent, and the service truly went above and beyond. If I’m ever back in the area, I’ll definitely return.

The ramen and sushi here are absolutely delicious! Pickup is usually quick, though I realize there are times when they might be short-staffed.

Aki's Ramen offers some of the best ramen I've encountered since moving to Kansas from Southern California. The cha-shu is genuine and practically melts in your mouth. I strongly encourage anyone who enjoys excellent ramen or noodle soups in general to give this place a try.

They have the best sushi ever! Never tried anything else from here though.

We put in a carry out order through the website, drove there, waited for 20 minutes, called, knocked, no answer- no food. Luckily I checked ‘pay at pickup’ and didn’t lose money. Screw this place, go to Panda Kitchen just down the road.
