Because most of the seafood combinations came with either chips or salad and with both the combinations for $18.90 and $21.90 . What we did find at the bottom...of the seafood menu was either panko crummed scallops or salt and pepper squid for $12.90 and thought that could be good value, so we ordered a portion of each. Here is the best bit there were 11 large scallops and about 18 strips of the salt and peppered squid. They were on average 10 cm in length and about 1/2 cm thick, both dishes tasted delicious. They also came with alioli sauces. We also ordered a large portion of beer battered chips for $8.50 and by the time we shared the two seafood dishes and chips we were really full. Two coffee's latte and flat white were $4 $4.50. The latte was just right the flat white was a lot of froth and not really hot, but nice in flavour. The small caramel milk shake for $5 was absolutely delicious. The food was quickly prepared and delivered with lovely table service. The café obviously has a good name because it was packed out. So for a lovely, tasty, filling, and great value lunch go and have this at the Maple Cafe for $47.80.
Staying nearby we didn't want the hotel buffet breakfast so found this well presented Cafe. Seems to be very popular with locals judging by the number of tables reserved. Nice and busy, yet the service was quick and attentive. Food lovely and the coffee good....Pity this is our only morning in Launceston. I'll have to remember for next time I come to Tassie.
While visiting Launceston we went to the cafe for breakfast found the staff so friendly efficient whilst providing great service. Food was excellent very appetising. We found it so good the first time that we continued going there for the duration of...our visit to Launceston .

I really wanted to love this place but it was disappointing. We went for breakfast and i ordered gluten free bacon, eggs and avocado and my husband ordered the pancakes. My husband said his was ok. Mine was a little bland and expensive for what...it was but it came with 3 long black hairs in it which was a bit gross. The music wasn't loud but someone needs to turn down the base as all we could hear was thumping and no actual music. But i will say the staff were lovely. Perhaps it was just an off day as it was pretty busy by the time we left
