Nana San - Newport Beach

Nana San is currently our favorite sushi spot in Orange County. Every item on the menu is fresh and beautifully presented. We particularly appreciate that they consistently offer toro, wild salmon, and both black and red snapper. The sea bass sashimi was a delightful new addition for us, and I really enjoyed it. The soft shell crab roll, which was crispy and delicious, was a hit with my daughter, even after she found out what it was. The seaweed salad is also worth a try; it's simple, but you can really see their commitment to quality in how fresh and vibrant the salad leaves are. Getting a table here on weekends can be challenging, but we've managed to dine here a couple of times by diligently calling on the day of our visit, with minimal hassle. Just be prepared to be "on call" for your table. I really hope they don't change anything about this charming little restaurant. It has an intimate atmosphere, while still feeling informal and welcoming.

Wow is this place delicious! It was recommended by someone I met on a plane and they said to get there early to get a table. We ordered omakase and we were not disappointed!! I'd return and order more pieces next time. All the sides and desserts were amazing too.

Absolutely enjoyed my time here! The 15 course Omakase was excellently done and each piece was tasty and well thought out. I also ordered the oyster appetizer and was surprised it included my favorite Kumamoto oyster. Definitely saved as a favorite of mine for future visits. I am coming back again today with some friends.

We’ve come here multiple times now, and the quality of fish is bar none. You tell the chef what you don’t like and let him do the rest. If you want nigiri in OC this is the place. Reasonably priced as well
