Alta Coffee - Newport Beach

Alta is a hidden gem in the community, known for its delectable food and house-roasted coffee. I have fond memories of enjoying dinner and dessert here in the evenings, sometimes accompanied by live music from local artists. Unfortunately, Alta has now transitioned to only serving breakfast and lunch. Hopefully, evenings will return in the future.

I have visited this small shop/cafe a few times and one of the best things about it is that they serve my favorite coffee, Wilson Coffee from Costa Mesa. The service was great and the food was delicious. Our order was also delivered promptly.

First time here for breakfast and coffee and both my wife and I loved it!

We ordered an Iced Mocha with Oat Milk, an Iced Chai Latte with Oat Milk, and a GF Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookie. You can tell and taste that everything is made fresh to order, and it is all delicious and amazing. We also tried the carrot cake, which was good too. It is definitely worth coming here for some coffee and dessert.

I desperately wanted to love this place but I cannot...I feel like a scrambled egg on gf toast should be without challenge. I was wrong. Firstly, they weren't scrambled but fried hard and secondly the egg shells in the eggs were a bit of a turn off. My fruit was nothing by cantaloupe and the coffee weak. My companion also had egg shells in her food and when she ordered a cortado she was brought a flat white. My companion cannot do that much dairy and when she went to speak to the young lady who took our order she stated that most people are fine with a flat white when they order a cortado. UM, what? If you don't make a cortado then say you don't make them and offer an alternative don't just service something the person did not order!
