We ordered cod cakes, bouillabaisse (with a different names), shrimp scampi, grilled salmon and a veggie kabob. It was all delicious. We also ordered wine and mixed drinks. The bartender (we ate in the bar room) was our waiter and was helpful.
We ate that Scales Shells on 5/6/22 and it was fantastic. My wife had the scallops piccata and I asked the chief what he would suggest and he said the sea bass, just wonderful. the side I had was grilled zucchini wow. Service was very good though not many in the restaurant because Newport is still waking up from the winter months. I would definitely go back.
Had dinner. No menu for the table. Had to go up to the blackboard menu and take a picture. We started with cocktails- my wife had wine and I tried the spiked Arnold Palmer. Palmer was blah so I switched to a Peroni Lager which was good. Wife had oysters which got a little dance(means they are really good). I tried the mussels and they were ok. Wife had the grilled tuna with fries and I had the grilled lobster with a side of linguine in white sauce. She said her tuna was very good but a bit cold in the middle. My grilled lobster was awesome. The linguine was bland and could not eat. Overall good. Maybe it was our choices that made it just an okay night.
The food was not great. Never send anything back and I did. Policies are to charge you 50 percent if u send something back. Disappointing experience.
We were able to get a table at 6PM on a Friday though it filled up shortly after. Many great seafood choices. The food came out quickly and every dish was well prepared and delicious.
