Green Derby Kentucky Bistro - Newport

We were looking for a local place to eat and stumbled over the Green Derby. Our server, Skylar, was phenomenal, fast, efficient and helpful. I was impressed how well she knew the menu and answered my questions. We enjoyed the frog legs very, mock turtle soup (unusual, old school Kentucky Goodness roasted chicken (some of the best I have ever eaten, huge portion, wonderful crusty cripples! Cod Mets with sauerkraut, solid baked potato. The butter and sour cream were presented in small cups and the butter was of excellent quality. Our 14-year-old son said: Mama, this is the best fish I've ever had, I'll give this restaurant 5 stars! We also enjoyed watching the locals, many who also celebrate New Year with a special meal!

Had loads in the area and saw a parking lot right in front of The Green Derby. I came in and ordered a Fried Halibut Sandwich to go to Rye Bread. What a treat. They are one of the few restaurants that Halibut still serve as I remember it as a child. Delicious. I highly recommend it. Five stars and beyond.

We had a great celebration of the Dayton HS class from 58-59 reunion. The staff had a great task to record our group of 35. Thanks to Green Derby staff and DHS class from 58/59. Food and service were great. I loved Derby Salas deep roasted eggplant. I'm looking forward to dinning Green Derby again, Bald.

Been to Green Derby never disappointed several times. Prime Rib, salmon, groupers starters were all good!

The food was great we all loved what we had every one said how great the food was. We will return from across the river and eat there again. The only thing is on line it said you are open until 1:00 am and when we left we saw on the door you close at 10:00 pm you might want to take care of that. Great food and nice atmosphere...
