Barge Inn Tavern - Newport

I absolutely love the Barge Inn, and the name is just fantastic. The atmosphere is filled with great energy, making it impossible not to have a good time. The burgers are delicious, and the cook on Sundays is not only entertaining but also an excellent chef! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

While exploring the Newport Bayfront, we decided to stop for lunch, and I'm so glad we did. The service was outstanding, and the food was fantastic! An added bonus was that women’s college volleyball was playing on the TV. The highlight for me was how reasonably priced the food was; I ended up tipping extra because of the savings! I couldn't help but notice several delicious Bloody Marys being made at the bar during our visit—it seems to be quite a popular drink! Next time I'm in town, I definitely want to try one or two because I plan to return as a loyal customer.

I hadn't been to the Barge Inn (boasting to be the Home of Wino's, Dingbats, Riff Raff), in about 10yrs. Forty years ago it was a little fisherman's hangout with plenty of spicy customers???? Today it is modern looking and very nice inside. I don'tknow if it still gets spicy, but maybe I'll visit on a Friday night to check ???? Had a bacon cheese burger fries, and it wasthe best! Definitely will be going back! Wow!

The ambiance and music were enjoyable. The Punch cocktail, especially with an added shot, provided an extra boost. The food options were quite good. I ordered the chili cheeseburger with curly fries, and while it was delicious, I should mention that it was an open-faced sandwich rather than the regular burger I had anticipated from back home. Overall, it was a great experience, and our server was excellent.
