Eshaal's - Newport

The meal was absolutely terrible. The chips were soggy and unpleasant, the battered sausage was tough and could have been used as a dog toy, and the staff were rude and unhelpful. I would highly recommend avoiding this restaurant.

Chip butty with no gravy.... gravy costing £1.20 Called the restaurant to be told when I next order they'll give me something.. so I said but what if I don't order again? Can I not just get a refund for the gravy ...genuine question.. I rarely order takeaways... I then get hung up on! Bad customer service.

I would give this restaurant 10 stars if I could. The food was delivered piping hot and the fish was incredible. If you're craving a delicious fish dinner on a Friday night, this is the place to go. Simply amazing!

Food took 1hr 40 minutes to come, 40 minutes later than advised. There was a children’s meal missing and another item. They promised to refund on Friday, but now refusing to. I won’t be using them again

Came across this fish and chip shop as the one we intended to go to was closed. Ordered a haddock, large chips and 2 fishcakes. The ‘large’ chips were served first and they were smaller than small so we had to order another one at £2.20!! They then told us they had no haddock so my partner ordered a battered sausage. They sorted that and the other large chips, then decided to tell us at this late stage they also didn’t have any fishcakes. At this point we just wanted to leave however felt awkward as the chips already had s&v on and was parcelled to go. It’s appalling customer service to not tell us what wasn’t available when first ordered rather than tell us at the end when it was too late. The food tasted ok but in terms of size, price and availability it was poor. We will not be going back nor would we ever recommend it.
