While the alcohol served is not all vegan, the fish and chips with mushy peas were excellent, though I wished there was more fish. My partner enjoyed the special rice bowl. The restaurant is located in Ouseburn, which may be a bit out of the way for some, but it is still popular. I've heard it can get very busy, but when we visited it was quiet. The service was a bit slow, but we assumed it was because the food was freshly prepared. The staff seemed unwelcoming and distant, almost as if we were serving ourselves. Despite this, we would still return for the food. If you don't feel welcome here, The Cluny down the street is a good alternative.
This restaurant offers excellent vegan twists on classic pub fare, such as fish and chips, shawarma, and occasional special dishes. They also have a great variety of apple wines and beers on tap, along with a laid-back atmosphere. If I lived in Newcastle, this would definitely be my go-to spot.
I had the shawarma on flatbread and the giant loaded nachos. They were both very tasty and I left feeling very full.
Absolutely amazing eating. it was a little expensive, but the portion sizes are very generous. we had jackfruit shawarma flatbread with last of salat, red cabbage, chili and tasty sauces, mac and cheeze and salt and chili chips. the personal was beautiful and I will definitely go back!
I’ve always really liked this place but recently the food wait times have gone beyond what is feasible for most people. Ordered food well over an hour ago, and after asking staff they said it is still coming. We can see food sitting on the side so think that the whole process could be a lot more efficient.
