The Big Lamp Brewery

Starting with the brewery, they offer some excellent beers. We sampled a few, and both the stout and the bitter were particularly well-crafted. As for the food, it was standard fare but nicely executed. The trout was tasty, though the mashed potatoes were somewhat bland. The lamb burger was decent, but the sauce was what really elevated it, as the meat itself lacked a bit of flavor. I would definitely return for a pint. There's a lovely patio area that’s perfect for warmer months. Breakfast offered a nice variety as well; the omelet I had was flavorful, albeit cooked a bit more than I usually prefer, but it was still enjoyable. Regarding the accommodation, the rooms are well-maintained and generally comfortable, although they do feel a bit dated—like stepping into a hotel room from the 1980s. Everything is clean and well-kept, but it's worth noting. For the final night of our walk along the wall, this was perfectly fine, especially since the trail is conveniently nearby. And if you end up with blisters, there's a bus stop close by that can take you to the train station!

This restaurant has a pleasant ambiance, especially with its nice outdoor seating for warm days and evenings. It's a great stop for refreshments after a stroll along the riverside, but we decided to order food during our visit. Unfortunately, the soup tasted like it came straight from a can, and the macaroni and cheese seemed to have been microwaved, resulting in a dry, overcooked edge and lacking in flavor. Overall, it felt overpriced for what we received. Not the best experience, and I probably won't return for a meal again.

It was a delightful experience on Valentine's night. I've been here before when it was quite busy, but not tonight. The tables were beautifully set, adorned with fresh flowers and red napkins, creating a charming atmosphere with lovely hearts as decorations.

Wow! This is undoubtedly some of the best beer I've ever had!

Very welcoming atmosphere. They offer a special two-course menu as well as a main menu. The two-course menu is priced at £8.95, which is a great value for the money. The food is delicious, with generous portions. There is also a good selection available. I would highly recommend this place.
