I love ****. There is nothing better than a steaming hot bowl of curry at this time of year I am obsessed with pumpkin Katsu, but on this visit I branch out and tried the Tempoura Veg; Absolutely divine. The portions are generous and a snip at £6 a bowl.
Waited over 20 minutes for chilli chicken yakisoba, ended up being mushy ‘chicken’ and over cooked noodles. The veg was unappealing and the meat was grey and inedible
I brought my two young children to this restaurant because I had promised them noodles for lunch that day. I had passed by a few times before and thought it looked interesting and always seemed busy. I ordered two Chicken gyoza ramens for myself and my 4-year-old. They came in large tubs and I was surprised by how fresh all the ingredients tasted and how authentic the flavors were. I loved it so much that I was actually considering ordering another one while my daughter finished hers. She got full, so we got a lid for her leftovers and shared it with my partner when we got home, and he was also very impressed. I will definitely be returning with him in the future. The price was great as well. The only downside was that there were no highchairs, but my younger child ate in his pram since we had only stopped in for a quick lunch.
The food at this restaurant is good, but unfortunately they have a minimum card spend of £6.50, which is frustrating when their most popular dish is only £6.00. Additionally, they don't have anything on the menu priced at 50p, so you are forced to spend more than you intended. This practice feels deceptive and underhanded. As a regular customer, I find this to be unacceptable and I'm sure many others feel the same way. I had to argue with them to let me pay just £6.50 for the £6.00 dish, which seems unnecessary. It's hard to see why they would do this, other than trying to squeeze more money out of their loyal customers. This is poor customer service and appears to be a form of price discrimination for their own benefit. I dislike this type of business practice and felt the need to share my experience. Shijo, please treat your regulars better and stop this unfair policy.
