Gave La Nonna a try last week as it was fifty yards from where I was born! Food was outstanding, Staff great. Great prices. A real find and compensation for the loss of the wonderful Antonio's in Whitley Bay. At last an Italian restaurant to...equal it.
Looks quiet from the outside so we thought we'd give it a go... ended up having a lovely meal, much better food than across the road in Francesca's ! ordered off of the menu and turns out that it was very good value for...money! will be returning soon!!!
I went to La nonna on the of November and it is one of the best places I've ever been for Italian meal. the waiter and the waitress were really helpful and caring and its got parking so if you are driving you can...park around the back of it. I defiantly recommend it to everyone.
Went with a groupon voucher meal for two. It was for sirloin steak meals, a bottle of wine and a side dish. I ordered steak Diana and the wife surf and turf. Got white wine which was ok. I asked for medium rare, the wife...medium. Both with chips. Service fine didn't take too long. Came on big square plates , which were cold! Both steaks were cooked well done ! and were very fatty. Chips ok homemade. Would have complained and sent back but could only find parking for as very restricted area. Won't be going back. If a chef can't cook a steak to your liking then he isn't a chef in my book. And got the feeling that it would have took several attempts before it came as asked.
