It was supposed to be a birthday dinner for a family member but now I feel guilty for even suggesting this place. It was 4 of us and we were seated at 7:15pm. Overall the place was nicely decorated however we were absolutely FREEZING COLD. The bathrooms and lobby when you walk in were clearly not heated and it all came into the dining area so we wore our winter coats at the table. The waiter was brand new and it was very obvious. His hands were literally shaking because was so nervous. He forgot a number of items we ordered. He kept telling us how slammed they were yet he only had 3 tables and I saw about 15 empty tables in the dining area. It took 30 minutes to get our drink orders in, another 25 minutes to get said drinks. We ordered appetizers and the French onion soup had been sitting waiting to be served for so long that the cheese was a brick and required a knife to cut it. I ordered this Brazilian steak dinner that was steak tips floating in some sort of marinade to the point where it was gross along with a pinch of shredded carrots, 2 tiny potatoe sticks and 3 tiny plaintains. It was not worth the price they were charging. We never got to try the lobster Rangoon we ordered. It took 3 very long hours to get drinks, appetizers, dinner and split a dessert. The waiter was nice but because he was so nervous he was not hearing what we were ordering. I don't necessarily blame waiter. I blame the manager who was well aware of the situation and chose not to assist or guide him in any way. I dont think ill be coming back here, especially not with family because this was embarrassing.
Very average restaurant. Got the calamari and the lobster Rangoon. Both were passable but not great. The Bolognese was pretty terrible, the spaghetti was borderline uncooked even for al dente. Drinks were solid enough. Wouldn't go back here again. Way too expensive for the quality, no disrespect to the 99 but I'd rather the there.
Really overpriced, poorly cooked entrees, the chicken was overcooked, lobster Mac and cheese was really subpar.Only bright spot was the gingerbread martini....Don't waste your time or money, the Grog has so much better food at a decent price. ?
We just keep going back. I'm not sure who the head chef is but the menu items are not only creative and delicious but always absolutely consistently and expertly prepared! We also often meet friends in the bar area and order from the fantastically priced bar menu! p.s. the calamari is the best we've had anywhere in the world and a tip they thinly slice and dip the lemon slices so that they're are edible!
