Papa John's Pizza - Newark

I waited two hours for two cold pizzas and soggy wings that had hardly any sauce. If you're looking for better ingredients and better pizza, I’d recommend the Domino's down the street instead.

The pizza is simply amazing! Their specialty pizzas are extraordinary too! Without Papa John's, the pizza experience would definitely be less enjoyable!

My second visit was even worse. Recently, I decided to pick up a pizza on my way home and I had a Carry Out special coupon. However, when I presented it to the cashier, he refused to honor it, insisting that I had to place my order online instead. He stood his ground and rejected the Papa John’s coupon. When I asked to speak to a manager, he informed me that he was the manager. This was by far the worst customer service I have ever encountered. If you don’t mind dealing with staff and management who clearly don’t care about customer service, then this might be the place for you. It’s disappointing because I live nearby and would have been a regular customer, but it’s clear that they couldn't be less interested in serving their patrons.

Unbelievable? Customer service?. I got a pizza with hair. Okay. My question came when I insisted on my pizza with hair... I called and asked for a new one. Standard practice. The manager tells me no, it's against her policy. My options were to go back to the store, for their mistake, or to be given a loan for a future pizza. I said we wanted to eat the pizza for dinner this night and just wanted a replacement. He said I can't just send a driver with a free pizza, I would need a ticket in the system, you can get the ones you have and get a replacement. I said you could... I saw it. You can enter the ticket for free and send a replacement, I am happy to give it to the driver. He asked what option he offered I preferred. I said I'm not comfortable with both options. So he said? Okay, me? I'll put the credits in the system for the next time.? How does he think there will be a next time? I checked with him that he was the branch manager of this place and he claimed he was. I called another dad and asked if this was the new policy. You said no? This is how this location will get any future business.

The workers here are great and will do their absolute best to make you happy, including pleasant conversation when you call. The food always comes out great too. No complaints ever in the years I've been using this location.
