La Cocina - Newark

The portions are generous, and the staff is friendly. It's an ideal spot for a Latin American lunch. We frequently go there with colleagues. The only thing I wish they had a bit more of is a greater variety of vegetables or salads. But perhaps that’s not what customers are looking for...?

Delicious food at an excellent price! As a Cuban, I can definitely vouch for that.

The food was excellent, and the delivery was very prompt. I will certainly order from them again.

The food is plentiful so you won 't leave hungry. I had pulled pork with rice and black beans and sweet plantains. Everything was very tasty. I usually prefer the pulled pork to be a bit more smoky and a little dry while this was more wet . It was still very good. At another time I mixed pulled pork with pulled chicken and I think I like chicken better. Atmosphere is not all that great, a bit ran down but food makes up for it. Good place to grab lunch at, around downtown Newark.

I ordered a chicken empanada and received a beef one instead. The steak and rice is pretty good but I wish it was a little more flavorful. Overall I rate it a 6/10.
