Grotto Pizza. - Newark

Been a loyal costumer to this Grottos location for as long as I can remember. The staff is phenomenal and make sure you feel welcome. Jackie is the best! Today I tried the Biscotti Gelato and am not sure how I waited so long to do so. It is out of this world!!

I used to live within walking distance of this Grotto's and still make the trip at least once annually even now that I'm several hundred miles away. I've never once been disappointed in the quality of the pizza from this location, and it always lives up to my memories of what I grew up eating. The restaurant itself is definitely nothing special; it's dark and outdated, and I would absolutely recommend carrying out instead. The takeout counter is located between the main restaurant and the attached bar. They are usually quite efficient, with only a 20 minute wait for my order most recently on a Friday night. Pizzas came out piping hot and exactly as we wanted. I will never get tired of their classic plain cheese pie! Delicious every time.

The dine-in service was amazing. Our waiter, Reagan, was an absolute gem. He gets 5 stars for his attentive service. He made sure our cups were full and we were taken care of. The food was pretty average for a pizza place. Our group had wings, cheese steak sandwich, and the broccoli Mac n cheese. You have to ask for lettuce, tomato, pickle on the side for your hot sandwich because the sides only come with cold sandwiches. I would come here again for a quick meal or a pizza craving since it's one of the few around. Lots of space inside for a big party and video games for the kids to play!

I have to start with mentioning the phenomenal service my table received from our waiter, Reagan. Very attentive, friendly, and willing to answer any questions. The food came out at a reasonable time and had competitive prices for the area. I had the honey bbq traditional wings and they were delicious, flavorful/none were dry at all! I tried some of the broccoli chicken Mac and cheese, which was my favorite thing at the table. The fries were great to dip in ranch. Overall, I had a pleasant experience at this Grotto location!

The fact they won't deliver to an address 3 miles away is ridiculous. So they advised us to go to DoorDash where they up-charge like hell and can't even offer the simplest request of a pizza to be extra crispy to combat the excessive greasiness of their food. Make it make sense.
