We went with an office party of 15+ people, and the staff communicated well with the reservation and was amazingly friendly the whole time. They did get a few things wrong here and there, but nothing that wasn't easily fixed. They let us wander around the house and gave a great history of the property. The owner even came out upon request and told us some more history of the house and the neat things that have happened since he purchased the property. Everyone was super friendly and the service was great. The food was good. The apps we got were amazing. For main course I got the deep fried lobster tail which was really good, and my wife got a steak. Her steak was seasoned well and cooked pretty close to order. A couple other folks' steaks were a little over cooked, but that happens sometimes and the kitchen was more than happy to recook them upon request. The asparagus was a little under seasoned in my non-foody opinion, but I would rather it under than over. The asparagus was still nice and crunchy so I thought it was cooked well. The potatoes were good and the french onion soup was excellent. This is a neat piece of Oklahoma history. The new owners are appearing to try to keep the history alive, and even have a portrait of the previous owner hanging above a fireplace mantle which is really special. They have news articles about the property on the walls and are more than eager to share their story with anyone that asks. If you love Oklahoma City and want to experience eating in a restaurant that was converted from a house built in 1937 with lots of history (including murders! , this is a neat place to visit. Edit: It appears they are now closed.
We wanted to go before it closed. Service seemed challenged to keep up. Bar service was very slow.
I was there for new years eve and am sorry to see this place go today(1-1-17) is supposed to be its last day open, especially they way it is going out. I was there last night and they ran out of most of the food on the menu, a steakhouse with no steaks to sell. took over 1 hr to seat us because there was no one to buss tables, the wait staff tried there darnest, but when the kitchen send out less than room temp prime rib dry as a bone there is not much left to say. I would have got up and left but the wife has had many good memories dining there and did not want to leave.
Best Prime Rib I have had in a long time. Cut with a fork, no really with a fork. And my wife's filet was just as good. The chicken liver appetizer was special, and so was the Onion soup. Add it all up it was a large, but special meal. First time there in a long time. I now do not know why I waited so long to go back. We had migrated to Ranch, but the Haunted House is do much better.
Absolutly terrible could have went to IHOP and got better service and food. It was so bad it was comical , would not recommend this place at all !!!!!!
