The ownership on the restaurant has changed hands and it is not the same food quality as before. I ordered a Sicilian slice of pizza and first arrived at the table cold. Then they heated it up more and it was hard on the edges. Warming up a slice of pizza should not be that hard since there were only four other customers in the restaurant. By the reviews below, I can see that the quality has changed over this period. The pizza was good but not great.

Excellent service and delicious pizza and pasta. Joselyn truly made the day. This will definitely be a must-visit on my next trips to Roosevelt Island.

The cheese pizza was filling, and that’s where the good ends. The cheese was rubbery, the sauce too little and not flavorful or contributing enough, and the dough was chewy and lacked flavor and cook. All in all, the pizza reminded me of school pizza which I so desperately tried to escape, so clearly not great. Not to mention, pizza is a cheap food option, but each plain slice here costs over $3.50!! For plain and lacking pizza, no less. There are tons of places in and outside of nyc that offer much cheaper prices for much better pizza. It’s crazy how pricey this rubbery disgrace is, especially considering how much business the restaurant gets from tourists, construction workers, and local folks. The pizza pie price is somewhat reasonable, at least. We haven’t gotten to the worst part; shortly after I ate the pizza, I got a terrible and tremendously strong stomachache that felt like bad period cramps for a few hours. I entirely lost my appetite for dinner and just ate some fruit and it even hurt to move or sit from time to time. I didn’t eat anything else before the stomachache, pointing all fingers to the pizza… maybe there was actual rubber or plastic in the cheese, who knows? I myself wouldn’t be surprised. The pizza on display looks dry, overly thin, and non-quality anyway. One more thing; I’ve ordered here before, and you can NOT microwave this pizza. It cools very quickly, so you almost always have to if you order more than one slice, but afterwards the pizza, if possible, is even stiffer and chewier (and devoid of taste) than before. That being said, DO NOT microwave this pizza. I’ve attempted to before as well and uh-I tend to regret even ordering pizza. I wouldn’t have left a review if not for the stomachache, but it was the last straw. This will definitely be my last choice for takeout on the island now…

Not worth the price at all. I ordered a small meat pizza, and it came without the bacon that’s supposed to be included. I also tried the vegetarian pizza, but the mushrooms had an unpleasant smell, like they were past their prime. To make matters worse, the salt shakers on the tables were wet, so I ended up pouring it on my pizza before realizing. The only reason I’m giving it two stars is that the cashier was very polite.

I ordered pasta and was told it would take 20 minutes, but after waiting for 45 minutes, we were still waiting as they seemed to prioritize delivery orders over dine-in customers. When the food finally arrived, the pasta was plentiful, but there was barely any sauce. I won’t be returning to this restaurant.
