We ordered the vegan chicken sandwich, but were informed that the fries and home fries are prepared in a shared fryer with meat. Instead, we opted for a salad as a side. They did not have pretzel buns, so we were offered a gluten-free bun as a substitute, which was confirmed to be vegan. We also ordered the black bean burger with vegan cheese, which previous reviews said was vegan. Unfortunately, the chicken burger was dry and lacked any spread on the bread. It was not a satisfying sandwich. The black bean burger did not impress my boyfriend either. We didn't see many other vegan options on the menu, aside from maybe the cauliflower wings, but we didn't inquire about those. Overall, we wouldn't return unless the menu was updated with more vegan choices.
The vegan options at this restaurant were limited, but there were several menu items that could easily be made vegan, such as avocado toast on the all-day brunch menu. We enjoyed brunch here two days in a row as it was conveniently located near our hotel, opened at 7:30 am, served brunch all day, and had a variety of options for both vegans and our omnivore friends. During our first visit, I ordered the veganized black bean burger and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was, especially with the soft and fresh GF bun. The vegan chipotle mayo was a standout and paired well with the fries. On our second visit, I tried the "totally vegan chicken sandwich" with added avocado and substituted the regular fries for brunch home fries. This sandwich was a special vegan treat and worth returning for. The chk’n was battered and served on a pretzel bun, while the home fries were a delicious mix of sweet and white potatoes. They even offered almond milk as a plant-based option for drip coffee.
The restaurant no longer offers a separate vegan section on their menu, including options like the Beyond Burger. Instead, the waitress suggested the black bean burger as a vegan option after verifying with the kitchen. To make it vegan, the cheese and fried onions needed to be removed, resulting in a rather plain burger.
Ordered the beyond burger as I was craving some fatty carbs and if I’m eating “junk” food it’s coming with the bells and whistles. Vegan chipotle mayo and vegan cheese! The avocado was the icing on the cake and made me a bit fatter and happier! So good and worth the trip over!
The food is good, the drinks are great . Fun atmosphere.
