Portions are enough for two people. Prices are at par with other restaurants in the area. I like the place, will revisit n try other menu options. Only reason for 4 star is that I seldom give 5 stars unless the place is really extraordinary on all levels. This place is by far great.
I happen to search for Indian food near me but due the circumstances, I had to venture out of my neighbor hood and found Mehak. What a find it is!! The owner is awesome who seriously cares about his customers satisfaction. The food is absolutely extra ordinary. I am so glad I found this place. If you want some mouth watering cooking, please go pick up some from there. You will thank me for it!!
This is the type of restaurant I seek out when traveling... Small and exclusive with its own charm... And the food!!! If you're a fan of Indian cuisine, you must visit this little gem. I will definitely be returning. The dishes I ordered - Muttar Paneer, Garlic Naan, and a Flying Horse Lager - were cooked to perfection. I even had a delightful chat with the owner, who shared fascinating stories about his home country. If you're an airline employee, don't forget to bring your ID on Mondays and Wednesdays between 3pm and 10pm for a discount. EDIT: I must mention that I walked from the JFK Sheraton Hotel to this restaurant and would do it again! Although the Q10 bus is a quicker option. EDIT (May 20, 2017): After almost three months since my last visit, I was pleasantly surprised that the owner remembered me when I walked in. What a great little place! I traveled over an hour to dine here and it was definitely worth it.
I adore this restaurant. The food is incredible and the owner is fantastic. I highly recommend supporting this hidden gem in the community. I don't mind traveling 40 minutes just to dine here.
This is the best Indian food I have ever had. I have tried great Indian food in Chicago as well, but the Chana masala, Chicken Curry, Raita, Saag Paneer, and Naan bread at Mehak are exceptional. It seems like the owner has been cooking this type of food for 30 years. This restaurant has become a regular spot for us.
