Majorelle - New York City

We celebrated our 1st year anniversary and were impressed by the food service. Unfortunately, the only thing missing was music. They had a technical difficulty that day. Highly recommend

Beautiful tangerine trees in the (indoor) garden area, with fruit and fragrant blossoms. Beautiful real roses on the tables. The review in the New York Post said the chair backs were painful in 2017, and they still are. Waiters are friendly but not always perfectly competent, asking too often to clear plates and not knowing which diner has ordered which plate. The choices on the menu are attractive, classical French with some Asian (curry) and Moroccan influences. Good foie gras. Missing salt in the tomato base for the sweetbreads, which were in lumps that are too big. The duck breast was too big, with just one roasted peach. New York French restaurants should learn from France, with smaller portions of meat and bigger portions of the fruits and vegetables. Good chocolate mousse and Moroccan mint tea. Overpriced even by high-end New York standards: $500 all-in for three courses and one drink each for two people. You can fly to Paris for less, and you should.

I had Afternoon Tea with my daughter and we decided to hold her baby shower in the Garden! The service, the ambiance and the food were superb! We can't wait to share this lovely experience with our friends.
