Just Salad - New York City

The bowl I had was good, with so many topping choices that it was tough to narrow it down to just four. I also had some difficulty finding the restaurant inside Macy's. While there is a food court in the basement, Just Salad is located on the fourth floor. The music near the tables is oddly repetitive and can be quite annoying. I was disappointed when I went to throw away my trash. You would expect a company boasting about its sustainability, organic ingredients, and natural products to have proper recycling practices. Unfortunately, they only recycle cans and bottles, which meant I had to dispose of all the paper and plastic waste in the regular trash. This was a letdown, especially given the high prices of the food.

Firstly, this location is within Macy's. I ordered two salads and two smoothies. While I was waiting for the smoothies, I overheard one employee telling another that the drinks came out to less than two cups. Yet, it was still acceptable for her to serve us those drinks, which, as you can see in the pictures, were far from full for $6.50 each. I'm sorry, but cutting corners on customer service will only drive customers away.

I wouldn’t recommend the smoothies. They cost over $7 after tax for a small cup filled mostly with ice, and they only contain half an avocado, five spinach leaves, four pumps of agave, and a splash of coconut milk with just 2 oz of orange juice. Plus, the ingredients don’t even fill the cup.

I was in Macy's in Herald Square, just browsing around when I realized I had to get somethimg to eat. I decided to try Just Salads and I must say they are not bad. The food was delicious! I had a Warm Bowl, which is basically a hot dish. You get to make your own bowl, just how you like it. I had brown rice, organic tofu, grilled mushrooms, blue cheese and a miso ginger dressing. You get to choose 3 things to make up your bowl. They also have chicken and tuna, for those who prefer those. They also can make you only a salad, customized to your liking. The prices range from $9 and up. The customer service was poor with the first worker who had an attitude when I tried to find out what the Warm Bowl consisted of. She then decided to have a male serve me instead. Great choice because he had superb customer service skills! The sassy one did me a BIG favor okay! The cashier who rang up my food had sass as well. She must have been taking lessons from the other one. It is funny how many BROWN folks know how to treat whites with respect, but when serving their own kind they have a nasty attitude. They need to stop the nonsense and learn to respect their own kind. I can't stand when I see such ignorance in people of color. They need help. Anyway, I am happy with the food that I purchased and will look for a different location to visit next time.

For starters the team is amazing I feel so welcome when I come here the food is amazing from the wraps to the salad I can honestly say I cry when they are close please visit this location and see for yourself how amazing they are
