The food was alright. I had the mixed platter and all the different hot dishes kind of tasted the same to me except for the texture given by the ingredients. It comes with a salad that is pretty nasty to eat with a plastic fork from a styrofoam plate. As a new customer who is not too experienced with Indian food, I felt a bit lost. Luckily the guy working there happily explained me what was in the different buffet trays. The best thing about this place is their bread I would go back for the bread. The food itself was not worth it for me. The overall presentation of the place is not that nice; it may be better for take out.
The restaurant is run by a really lovely older couple who prepare the food themselves. They are very accommodating and will gladly address any dietary concerns you may have. I genuinely want to support this place, but it's disappointing that they only serve food in Styrofoam containers with plastic utensils.
Affordable, fast, and vegan! I typically go for the large plate with rice, and the staff is always eager to clarify which dishes are vegan. At just $8, it's a fantastic, quick, and healthy meal whenever I'm in the area—comparable to the Punjabi Deli on Houston Street!
This restaurant is well-known for its delicious, affordable vegetarian Indian breads. If you're vegan, simply request that they don't use butter, as it's the only potential dairy ingredient in the bread. The prices are budget-friendly, and I highly recommend opting for takeaway. They prepare fresh curries and vegetables in the evening, so you can expect to find freshly made curry available after 4 PM. Overall, it's a fantastic place for takeaway, offering low prices and fresh bread, along with the option for fresh curry if you visit after 4 PM. Due to their low-cost model, they use styrofoam plates and have a small seating area. This review has been updated from my previous comments on December 16, 2017.
