Upon arrival, I was seated and given a menu. Cold water was brought to the table, followed by French bread and butter. I promptly placed my order for a medium-well steak. The restaurant is spacious and located on the corner of 8th Avenue and 46th Street. When my food arrived, I was pleased to find that the steak was served with French fries. Unlike the usual shoestring potatoes, the fries were larger and more flavorful this time. It was a fantastic meal overall. The attentive and accommodating staff took my order and promptly delivered the food when ready. I highly recommend this restaurant for lunch or dinner, as well as pre- or post-theater dining.
I wasn't very hungry, so I opted for the yogurt, granola, and berry bowl, which turned out to surpass my expectations. It was a generous portion with plenty of fresh fruit, and the Greek yogurt was of high quality. The granola was also fresh and tasty. My partner ordered the frisee salad, which looked good but he mentioned he had tried better options elsewhere. Check out the photos for a closer look!
I tried making reservations for Mother's Day about a week in advance, calling multiple restaurants on 45th Street near the theater district. This restaurant was the only one with availability, but I was disappointed with the meal. The Mediterranean salad was oddly piled up like a sandwich and topped with a strange, cheesy cracker. The tapas dishes were tiny and not very flavorful, with mediocre pita bread and okay steak. The seafood linguini had overly large mussels that were unappetizing, and the vegetarian plate was bland. The fries were the best part. The coffee was good, but the creme brulee was not impressive. The rushed feeling of the meal may be due to the high tourist traffic in the area. Overall, I would not return to this restaurant.
I had a lovely French Sunday brunch upon arriving in NYC in the morning. The French toast and Croque Monsieur dishes were outstanding.
The restaurant is situated on a bustling street and has a charming setting. The bar area with glass windows offers a view of the avenue. The bar staff is friendly and attentive.
