Barbetta - New York City

Beautiful old-school NYC restaurant with polite waiters in suits. The food was fine but not great. Minestrone soup was excessively salty, swordfish and bass were a bit tough. Our friends had filet mignonette and rabbit, which they said was very good. We had a 4:30 reservation for dinner and tickets for a show at 7p. Ample time but we had less than 15 mins to get to the show and we couldn’t get the check. It took a lot of stress and effort to get the check and longer for someone to run our credit card. We nearly missed the show. While service was pleasant beforehand, they ignored our table once dessert was placed and we had informed our server we had show tickets

A regular go to when we visit New York City! Consistently an excellent dining experience!

I had the pleasure of dining at Barbetta, and I must say, the interior is truly captivating. The elegant decor, reminiscent of a classic Italian garden, creates a charming and romantic atmosphere. From the ornate chandeliers to the vintage furnishings, every detail contributes to a sophisticated dining experience. Barbetta's interior design is a perfect complement to its delectable cuisine.

The atmosphere was nice and the service was good (as was the food...good, not great... I would have preferred more menu options, such as pasta pasta with squid ink, clams, or sea bass)...Yet, it was a pleasant dining experience.
