Au Cheval - New York City

The hamburgers here are amazing. Drinks choices are great. Great ambience and friendly staff. Recommend making reservations.

I live in nyc and had heard about the place. Checked it out for dinner. The double cheeseburger was ok for me but nothing to write home about. Their double cheeseburger $21.99) did not come with french fries which would have cost another $11.99). The beer was very good. The ice cream with chocolate syrup was good. The service was good and the place was relaxed and comfortable. With tax and tip I spend about 47 dollars for one cheeseburger, a beer and ice cream for desert. I would not go back to Au Cheval for a cheeseburger. Maybe a cold tap beer on a hot day could work for me.

Omg… the best burger and chocolate cake I’ve ever had. Can’t stop thinking about this place and dying to go back! Everything about the experience is amazing. I highly recommend going a little early and checking out the basement speakeasy before your reservation. My group was wondering around the area and when we arrived early we were surprised and delighted to find out about the basement speakeasy where we hung out for about 30 mins before the reservation.

Had Brunch on Sunday September 3rd at Au Cheval in NYC and enjoyed every aspect of my meal with my son. The Double Cheeseburger which I had been hearing about forever lived up to the hype, as we of course went with the bacon and egg on top. The Avocado Toast with Salmon was also absolutely delicious. Even though we were full we had this amazing dessert (flake pasty with fresh cream and chocolate drizzle) recommend by Sienna the hostess who had this incredible personality that added to the whole experience. We will definitely be back soon to experience the dinner menu!!

We had lunch at Au Cheval in August 2023. They are well known for their burgers which was scrumptious. I had a Caesar salad which was also very tasty. And the fries, they were so yummy!!Kid-friendliness: They are not pram friendly which by definition means not baby friendly. They should change that.
