Yakiniku Futago - New York

We loved it here! Went for restaurant week and were pleasantly surprised by the amount of food and variety offered. We also tried an egg and vegetable bibimbap which was delicious! The bbq meat was all so flavorful, tender, and delicious. The drinks were expertly crafted and also very good. Service was great and the place had such a nice ambience from the lighting to music. We would definitely come back another time.

The place is somewhat overpriced for the level of food and services offered.

We very much enjoyed our meal. But did not rise to the level of expectations Wagu Beef is very selective and often mis labled . The beef was labeled A5 but not Kobe When the treasure box arrived at the table with a very nice presentation and explanation that was a nice touch There was a beef tartare kinda sushi roll appetizer that was great They do cook in front of you And it only take seconds a side to be perfectly medium rare. Treasure box part of the meal was very good But we also ordered a Wagu A5 ribeye here is where the disappointment It was so thin and wrapped with fat not marbling but fat which they call the cap NO the cap should be a nice piece of higher quality beef not a layer of fat. They even cooked that for us to eat a what they said was the special part. But it wasnt cooked crispy so a taste of pure fat not too good The other sticking point was that even with appetizers and 2 sets of beef We could have been finished with the meal in 45 minutes. Yes the resturant was pretty empty but going for an evening out in the city we like to take our time lastly I'm very familar with Asian Wagu beef places in NYC and didnt feel as if the quality or quanity measured up to the price
