My older son insists that the burger is the best in New York, while my younger son adores the steak. I personally enjoy the salads and appetizers, and of course, everyone is a fan of the mac and cheese!
You should visit for the atmosphere. This is one of the oldest bars in the city. John, the bartender, can share stories about the original bar top. The food is good—though a bit pricey, but that's typical for this part of Manhattan.
What happened? The onion soup, which used to be dark and rich, was now light and overpowering with pepper. The bread was so soggy that I couldn't even tell if it was good or not. As for the cheese, my wife (who is a chef) and I could only guess that it was supermarket sliced mozzarella—completely tasteless. Sometimes a restaurant can have an off night, but this felt like a significant change in their recipe, which is truly disheartening. I understand that food prices have risen, and this is a pub-style setting, but I would be more than willing to pay for quality. Since we only had the soup, I can’t comment on the rest of the menu. I'm not sure if I will give them another try.
Very quaint corner spot. Old pub feel with nice bay window seating. Also, right across from the Ghostbusters Headquarters Station 8 Firehouse. We just got drinks, so I can't speak for the food. But the waitress was friendly and drinks came outquickly. Definitely saving this spot for future visits.
Stumbled upon Walker's while checking out the area. Ended up staying for hours. John was a fantastic bartender and offered tons of humor and conversation to keep us entertained. Excellent cocktails and the food was great! The burger is a must have
