It was delicious! - **Stay Gold:** Made with bourbon, ginger, and lime, it reminded me of a Kentucky Mule but without the mint. It was very gingery, which I enjoy, but my friend isn’t a big fan of ginger. - **Screen Door Slam:** An Old-Fashioned style drink, enhanced with Aperol and Absinthe. All the cocktails were quite inventive and offered a nice variety. The service was fantastic as well. My only complaint is the price—each drink costs $19. As someone who loves cocktails and enjoys making them at home, I was a bit underwhelmed by the liquors they used; they weren't particularly unique or interesting (like Maker's Mark Bourbon, Reyka Vodka, and Suntory Toki, though I do love Suntory Toki). Overall, I had a great time and would definitely return!
I highly recommend The Up Up as a charming and sophisticated speakeasy! The ambiance is dimly lit, creating an intimate and cozy atmosphere—perfect for a date night. They offer a wide range of creative cocktails. I tried the Bring June Flowers, which features Reyka vodka, Suze, jasmine tea, cucumber, and lemon juice. It was refreshing with a strong cucumber flavor, but in a delightful way. My only note would be that it had quite a lot of ice. The service was attentive and the staff was very knowledgeable about the drinks. I would definitely suggest asking them for any questions or recommendations. I would love to come back!
The interior décor, especially the wallpaper, is both delicate and classic, creating a cozy atmosphere. The lighting was used effectively to demarcate individual tables and groups, enhancing the overall vibe. I appreciated the menu’s clear indication of glassware types—either rocks or highball—making it easier to choose our drinks. However, the drinks themselves were somewhat disappointing. One of my friends noted that they tasted quite ordinary, and some were served with too much ice and not enough alcohol. For example, the Six Seed cocktail, which contained grapefruit, didn’t quite live up to our expectations. Overall, while the ambiance was lovely, the drinks left something to be desired.
Good, strong cocktails, but i didn't really like how waiter was pushing me drink more after two of my cocktails. He asked order any cocktail even non alcoholic. Than they said we limit of time to sit in table i wasnt mind sit in bar as well but in 3 min they change mind and said we can sit longer in table. Its was my first time there and i Dont think i will be back .
The Up Up is kind of like a speakeasy. You have to go down the stairs and ring the bell and they let you know if they have room to seat you. Three friends and I came by on the Friday before July 4th weekend at around 7:30, without a reservation. We rang the bell and the guy went to check for availability and shortly came back to let us in. I thought the place would be packed but it was half empty so not sure why he needed to check. Maybe to make it seem more exclusive? The inside is dark but not too dark. It would be a nice spot for a date. Cocktails are expertly made but pricey. They are $19 a pop. My friend ordered a mocktail and was also charged $19! I had the 'One-Star Yelp Review ' (as a Yelper should lol), which is Reyka Vodka, Amaro Montenegro, Cachaça, Grapefruit Juice, Lemon Juice, and Demerara. It was very refreshing for such a hot day. The Up Up is a nice place if you want to stop by for a quick drink but definitely not where you want to spend the entire night or else you 'll likely run up quite a tab. But overall, pretty cool experience.
