The Donut Pub - New York

My son loves doughnuts and this is the only reason for us to look for ? shops… who am I kiding? He loves dougnuts but I love them too! And if I don’t eat doughnuts in NYC, where will I eat them? We weren’t exactly looking for doughnuts that day but we happened to walk by The donut pub so we went in to “have a look” ? The venue is strange: it looks like a bar but they serve doughnuts. There are colors everywhere so it’s not exactly a place to chill, more to order, eat and leave. Nevertheless, you may be there a while because their selection of doughnuts is huge and picking one (or two? ? isn’t an easy task. We got to try 3 different ones. All 3 were fine, none was wow. The staff was nice and the price was fair for NYC: I think we paid about $15 for 3 pastries and 2 espressos. It’s a nice spot when in the neighborhood but I wouldn’t cross the city for it. The doughnuts here are amazing. They are huge and soft and fluffy. One is big enough for at least two people. The flavors are so quirky and creative as well. I am very impressed by this place. 10/10

Classic. No frills. Open 24 hours (who thought the day would come where that's special in NYC?! .I stop in probably once a week. It's nice seeing familiar faces and getting some traditional (non-gourmet donuts. If the donuts are fresh you're in for a treat... if not, hey, they're still donuts!

Nice thing about this place is that it is open until late great place to stop by if you need a sugary late night dessert. That being said: the donuts are okay, and the croissant donut is not very flakey/impressive (I went late, maybe it’s different in the morning). The flavors are just quite sugary, nothing very special. The girl behind the counter looked beyond bored to be there… had to repeat my order twice before she even noticed my existence.

We are visiting from Texas and will definitely be back! Hubs loved his powdered jelly donut.
