Saturday night and the restaurant was empty.... no guest, no sake, no wine, no beer... no green tea... and mmmhh salmon was out and only one omakase to choose from... Whatever was served was fresh and good but notexceptional in any way nor was it Michelin worthy. Maybe it was just an odd night but . Big expectation big disappointmentoverall.
The place is small but it has a nice ambient. The food is good, you will love it if you like seafood. Is overpriced for the food and service provided.
I expect omakase to be served by the chef in an order fashion. This service was in waves. We were served a large plate of nigiri all at once. Keep in mind that this place is priced at Eleven Madison Park level, so I expect better, or I want to spend less. Most of the the dishes were good. They are not for novice eaters. This rating comes from the carelessness if service at theprice point.
Completely outrageous and scandalous. A bunch of fried food in the beginning and only 10 pieces of below par sushi at the end. At one point, I saw the chef take out prepared Costco food to serve on a plate. He wasnt even trying to hide it. Insane for a $300 per person meal. Oh and tip? Yea its mandatory as they conveniently slap an automatic 20% gratuity in your bill withoutasking. In that case, why even bother? Just list it on top of your ridiculous pricing. I would go to Nakazawa over this placeany day. not worth a trip all the way to Harlem only to be ripped off. You guys should be ashamed but i guess I'm the idiot whofell into this trip.
It is very unfortunate that I have to write this type of review. I traveled from from abroad for a 1 day business trip with a reservation set for dinner plans and come to find out the reservation booked a day ahead of the day I originally requested. Itried to change it and i was told we couldn’t. When I tried to cancel the reservation the receptionist told me I would becharged a fee. I tried explaining that I would not be in town and she just wouldn’t listen and simply told me it didn’tmatter. Again I tried to be polite and offered to send a copy of the ticket so she sees that I was being honest but she justwouldn’t listen and as if I was rubbish, she dismissed me. I tried speaking with the manager and she said she was the managerand wouldn’t allow me to speak with anyone else. This is the type of behavior that causes companies to lose both local andinternational clients; which in turn reflect poorly on the brand. I Personally, will not be visiting and hope that those thatwould are cautious. Spend your money where you are respected.
