Socarrat Paella Nolita - New York

The restaurant week option offered fantastic value, providing a generous amount of food for the price. I typically avoid restaurant week promotions, but this one was definitely worth it. Just a heads-up: the paella takes a while to prepare; we waited about an hour after ordering it. Everything else was excellent, but it did take some time to get the waiter’s attention for the check. This might have been because the place was busy, but I would recommend checking it out if you're in the area.

We visited this restaurant for date night to try their Restaurant Week specials, and we were truly impressed. The food arrived promptly and was incredibly delicious. Everything tasted fresh, and we particularly loved the croquettes. The squid ink paella bowl was generous enough for two; we could barely finish it! The ambiance is low-key and located on a quiet street, making it a perfect spot for outdoor seating in the summer. I highly recommend it!

We enjoyed a fantastic Valentine's Day dinner here, technically the night before! Both the food and service were consistently excellent, and my only regret is not discovering this place sooner. That's a problem I plan to fix with future visits. I've had my fair share of paella, both here and in Spain, and the carne paella we had last night was absolutely delightful. The unlimited sangria special for Valentine's Day was a fantastic bonus, too!

Overall, we had a wonderful experience at the restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised by the flamenco night, complete with live music. The food was good, though the paella was quite salty, and the seafood and chicken lacked seasoning or spice. The prices were reasonable, but I appreciated their response to our feedback. They acknowledged that the paellas weren’t prepared correctly, which is surprising given that it's a signature dish. However, it would have been more sincere if they had offered a partial refund as an apology.

The paella was outstanding, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was fantastic.
