Sarge's Delicatessen Downtown

I am giving this restaurant a 5-star rating for its value and quality, despite having some minor concerns. Initially, I was hesitant to order due to the slightly higher prices compared to other places, but what sets Sarges apart is that their portions are so generous that one order can easily feed 2 or 3 people. My only critique is that the cream cheese was a bit hard and not individually packaged, and the red onions were a bit soggy from being refrigerated. However, the two beautiful high-quality bagels were perfectly toasted and still warm upon delivery. I highly recommend this place, especially if you are dining with a group. I cannot speak to how their corned beef and pastrami compare to other iconic delis in NYC, but it is definitely worth a try.

The chicken pot pie was dry and had no flavor with too much burnt crust. My French onion soup had gigantic onion peels in it instead of diced onions. Clearly they were too lazy to chop the onion up. The cheese on my French onion soup was burnt, rubbery, and nasty! There was also almost no bread in the soup. French onion soup has bread in it. Read the recipe. How in heck is this place a top recommended restaurant in New York? Clearly that was from a long ago. Because the food quality is terrible. You may want to Gordon Ramsey!

This restaurant is always a favorite of mine! The 7 layer cake is absolutely amazing and the eclair is so fresh and delicious. Overall, one of the best restaurants in NYC.

Literally unreal. The knish was possibly the best I ever had. The soup is always perfect. Considering I was insane enough to order a hot dog to be delivered across Manhattan, it arrived pretty good with a lovely amount of sauerkraut and the optimal deli mustard on the side. 11/10

There wasn't a lot of lettuce and one of the slices of rye bread was so thin that it fell apart. This made it difficult to hold together a four-inch sandwich. Otherwise, everything else was great and would have been perfect.
