Pinch Chinese - New York

We really enjoy the food here, so we're willing to tolerate the noise.

Pinch is undoubtedly the best Chinese restaurant in the city. The authenticity is remarkable—this is not your typical New York Chinese cuisine. Their dumplings are incredible, especially the chicken soup dumplings, which I believe rival any I've tasted in China. The duck is also exceptional, though slightly behind what you'd find at Decoy.

We celebrated Chinese New Year, and it was a great experience. The restaurant was bustling with energy. There was a table of over 20 teenage girls celebrating a birthday, which added to the festive atmosphere. The food was delicious, and I highly recommend the pork dumplings and the pork belly. We also tried the spicy halibut, which was a bit too hot for my taste, but my friends really enjoyed it.

I was in the city for a conference and visited this restaurant for dinner one night with a group. They were incredibly busy for a weekday, but thankfully one of the ladies in our party was able to secure a table for us.

I made a reservation for dinner, and I'm really glad I did! The interior had a clean, modern, and casual vibe, and the food was served promptly.
