The sauce is flavorful. The string beans have always been well cooked, not too crunchy, not too limp, and really yummy. Order the E1 General Tso Style and V02 String Beans and youll likely be very satisfied with your choice!
I order from here all the time and its delicious. Everything tastes super fresh. The only things id skip is the deep fried stuff. I always regret it bc its just drenched in oil.
I have to say that the food here is quite good, fresh and less greasy than traditional Chinese restaurant in the area, probably over most of New York. I did something I rarely do and that was order delivery a week ago. I was so blown away by the quality and freshness, as well as the service in taking my order that I decided to pay the restaurant a visit. Good decision! I was further impressed with the lunch specials. I particularly had a Szechuan dumplings and the lobster fried rice as a lunch combination. The lobster fried rice was impeccable, and probably the best I’ve had. The snow pea shoots to me are always my go to in Chinese curing and these were made to perfection! I really thought everything in my order was delicious and I will be frequenting this Chinese restaurant on a regular basis. If you’re looking for high quality take out with no MSG, and not loaded with greasiness, this may be your destination! I highly recommend.
There was a dead cockroach in my beef and vegetable soup. Before discovering, the food was mediocre. Ordered general tso chicken (bland) shrimp dumplings (very fishy for shrimp) and the cockroach soup. Never ordering from this place again.
I thought Mazu was just okay, nothing really special. My friend described it as Americanzied Szechuan food and I think it 's pretty accurate LOL. Szechuan food is normally super flavorful and this place just wasn 't. Mapo Tofu wasn 't spicy at all (or as it should be), and the black bean chicken was good but I think I just really like black bean lol. Complimentary sweet peanuts were yummy though, and portions were huge! As for service, it was pretty good; we got seated right away as it was pretty emtpy on a Friday night. Vibes were also just... okay, I wouldn 't take anyone on a date here or anything, but it was a nice place to sit while simply catching up with a friend!
