Really disappointing experience. Made brunch reservations to catch up with a friend and we were really looking forward to trying this place. We got there a little early and still had to stand and wait for table although the place was half empty. First off, they clearly have brunch drinks advertised all over menu and website but when we ordered were told they didn 't have a liquor license, had we known I would have booked elsewhere. Service very friendly but slow, not a big deal except the food was such a letdown. My friend asked for goat cheese in her omelet and she said part of it had the goat cheese but the rest clearly had brie the chunks had the white rind and the creamy center and it tasted like brie. Not what she wanted, took awhile to get waiter 's attention and he tried to convince her it was goat cheese, that they make it a special way and don 't even have brie on the premises . Whatever. She left half of hers on plate. My french toast with bacon and egg was so dry and the bacon chewy (eww) I left about half of it too. Cup of coffee is $4 and no refills. Seriously the best French toast with lox ever. And the best quiche I've ever eaten. The staff was welcoming and attentive. Must go again....

This is a place is not to be missed. We used their Milk Bread to make French toast at home. Real Maple syrup, Irish butter, and organic eggs and milk has never had a more worthy companion. Also the owner is ridiculously handsome and good looking, the staff all had proper manners and the vibe is peaceful. Dead Popovers becomes the delightfully reborn Kirsh mainstay of the upper west side, conveniently next door to the Famous Barney Greengrass fish and bagels. Brunch on the upper west side just got Tight!
