My husband surprised me with a dinner and a show, knowing how much I missed Portuguese cuisine, which is hard to find in midtown. Thankfully, he made a reservation at Ipanema, a restaurant that beautifully blends traditional European Portuguese dishes with Brazilian flavors. The garlic shrimp was absolutely amazing—we nearly licked the plate clean! The grilled octopus was also fantastic. It can be tough and chewy if not prepared correctly, but this dish was tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked! We were really pleased with our experience at Ipanema. They offer a variety of other dishes for those who aren't seafood fans. I highly recommend dining here. Come hungry, because you'll want to savor every last bite! The staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive. Our waiter truly shared our enthusiasm for the food—rightly so! As a first-generation Portuguese, I truly appreciate the cuisine. It’s tough to outdo Mom’s cooking, but Ipanema definitely succeeded!
