Harlem Tavern - New York

I really had a great time here about one month agoWe came here on Thursday night just to have a few drinks and what-not.

I've been here a couple of times for happy hour, but I've had my first jazz brunch experience just this weekend.

We had a reservation for 5:30 and we were told we could not be seated and will have to wait. we weren’t given a time that we could be seated. Therefore we left. It was overcrowded and very unorganized. What was the purpose of making a reservations.

The waitress was attentive and polite. The food needs a bit more flavor and seasoning because all the dishes were quite bland and we needed salt and pepper to enjoy.

Harlem Tavern has simple bar food that’s not prepared very well. The wings were dry and unflavored. The spicyMexican salad was missing ingredients that were supposed to be in it. However, My dad enjoyed his braised short ribs. The red and white wine were very lack luster. I have been here a hand full of times and the food and service is always subpar but my son likes the atmosphere believe it or not lol. It was football Sunday, and the atmosphere was very enjoyable and fun and friendly. Service was a tad slow but very professional and friendly. I can only recommend this spot as a sports bar to anyone good beer and a burger with a lively atmosphere.
