Fuji Sushi - New York

So it’s one of those places where you get certain items from the menu like tempura shrimp, not looking for high quality raw fish or anything. That said, rolls, yakitori, and desserts were just ok. What was kind of strange to me was that 20% tip was automatically put on the bill, honestly that is fine, because I always tip at least that amount, but the fact that it is automatically put on the bill of a party of two was odd for me… then again it’s in a touristy area and sometimes they don’t know to tip the staff fairly who were very friendly and lovely by the way.

DO NOT COME HERE!!!!!!My friend and I showed up on a Thursday evening, food was ehhhh honestly not great we wouldn’t come back. however, what sealed the deal for us to NEVER return was that I tipped 11% and as we were walking out the lady STOPPED US AND SAID A 20% tip ADDED TO MY 11% WAS MANDATORY!!!I said No, I already signed it and I took my receipt as a copy as well. She was insanely rude after that and got all huffy and puffy. I understand wanting more, but food was not great, and after her claiming a 20% on top of what I already tipped was mandatory … like DONT COME HERE.I’m keeping my customer receipt, I wouldn’t put it passed them to try to “type it in wrong”.

Something seemed a bit off with our sushi rolls. Did not enjoy the experience.

Poor experience as 2 staff were unprofessional, rude and so insulting I had to call 911.2 officers also arrived at the scene and when I showed the actual video of abuse from the staff, they were very surprised to see this kind of behavior, went inside and also spoke to them.Raising it to better business bureau now to ensure no else is treated the way I was.

We celebrated a birthday dinner, indicated as much through the open table app, and the wait staff team immediately inquired and provided celebratory and attentive service throughout. Lots of fun and lots of menu options, we look forward to a return visit.
