It was a sad celebration, they were closing after several years, you tucking geniouses!

Sadly it is closing on Saturday. It is a loss to Duane Street, Tribeca and fans of Austrian comfort food.

Food was really good! The pretzels were freshly baked and the meal options were all delicious. We especially enjoyed the Salzburger Knockel! This desert is typically found only in Salburg, Austria and it was delicious!!

My wife I spent the afternoon watching a World Cup soccer game at Blaue Gans and had a superb time. We were seated in an ideal and comfortable location by a gracious waiter and enjoyed excellent German beer and a tasty meal. The wait-staff worked hard and were friendly and efficient. Goal!

I love this place. Coming from an Austrian family, it’s nice to know there is a fun go to place for Austrian food. Too bad “The Danube” closed several years ago for higher end Austrian food. It’s a market that needs to be tapped.
