The Garlic - New Smyrna Beach

Jamie the sax player is AMAZING!!!! Would definitely come back just to see him. The food is also AMAZING! Sat at the bar and had great service. This place is my favorite. We drive an hour to eat here regularly. HIGHLY recommend.

Our group of 4 waited 30 minutes to get ONE drink, and during that time, it was clear that the bartender was prioritizing other patrons over us. when we finally were able to order, 1 out of the 4 were able to get a glass of wine. she skipped the rest of us despite my attempts to get their attention and my patience, I was continually overlooked. It wasn’t just a one-off incident; the bartender consistently checked in with other customers while neglecting others that were already sat at a table waiting to close a tab after several failed attempts.

First timers and EVERYTHING was exceptional!! To start, Morgan was our server and he was amazing! He gave great recommendations, attentive, and friendly. We obviously didn’t know how much food we were in for lol. The bread and roasted garlic was top notch! Then we got the calamari 10/10, for dinner I got the rack of lamb, which I HIGHLY recommend, my boyfriend got the filet and it was delicious, the mashed potatoes that come with the meals were perfection. To finish we couldn’t decide on which dessert to get so we got two, the peanut butter pie and the carrot cake. LET ME TELL YOU…. If you get anything from this restaurant GET THE CARROT CAKE!! Best carrot cake I have ever had in my life!! Needless to say we will definitely be back!

Our favorite restaurant to visit every time we come to New Smyrna Beach.

On the recommendation of close friends who highly recommended this restaurant I stopped by with high expectations. I sat myself at the bar in the “blue room” and immediately appreciated the atmosphere and vibe. The server greeted me in a somewhat harsh manner and when I inquired about the pro’s and con’s of 2 appetizers that I was considering she made me feel silly for even asking her opinion. I chose the appetizer that I was leaning toward. After my appetizer was brought out I took a few bites before a shockingly large insect crawled off of my plate. I have never had this experience before. I was in shock and disgusted at the same time. I have no vendetta against this establishment, I am a visitor in this town. Since the wait staff never bothered to ask me about my food or drink? I paid my $40 plus tab and left immediately. I really didn’t want to disrupt the evening of the other bar patrons. I apologize to the staff and management of this restaurant because this is NOT the kind of review that I would like to leave.
