Although we were seated by a window that was not double glazed and quite cold, we eventually moved to a warmer table. The restaurant overall could have been warmer. I tried duck breast for the first time and enjoyed it, but felt that the vegetable selection was lacking in color. My husband ordered the snapper, which was the fish of the day. We both struggled with the blunt knives provided, which made cutting through the food difficult. I mentioned this to the waiter. For dessert, I chose the coconut rice pudding and my husband had the bread and butter slice, both of which were tasty. Overall, we would dine here again.
Lunch at stylish Novotel New Plymouth with my best friend was such a pleasure! Excellent choice in matching textures and flavours! Wine matched too. It was Allan Scott Wines #pinotgris . Had to force myself from ordering the second glass! After all it was only lunch. #myMarketingResearch had made me investigate Governors restaurant. Reinforced by two male companions we worked through the menu. Lovely music from their piano bar. Recommended starter Japanese inspired prawns with Edamame beans and coconut broth. Best of all smiles from our friendly waiter.
The food at this restaurant is beautiful and full of flavor. The steak was cooked perfectly and the Banoffee pie and Snickers Cheesecake were heavenly. The service was quick and efficient, and the staff was friendly.
We had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. The accommodation, food, and staff were all top-notch. The staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We highly recommend Novotel New Plymouth for a weekend getaway.
This was the second time in two months that we tried Tuesday Special 'Trust the Chef '. The 4 dishes were superb.Delicious fresh flavours that included ceviche,roasted duck ,lamb and the bomb dessert with chocolate gannache watermelon gelato ,peanut crumble.All the main dishes were served with mouthwatering flavours from orange to celeriac, infused leek and more.The head Chef served every dish and thoroughly explained them all.Ten out of ten.We will be back.
