A Tavola Trattoria - New Paltz

Food was average at best. Service and atmosphere was fantastic

For the most part, this was a very nice Italian spot. I loved the space and the the bolognese which they braise for seven hours was out of this world. Appetizers were hot and miss though I didn’t really care for their burrata, which lacked the creamy interior I usually so love about it. I’d give them another try though, if only to try some of their other pastas.

We were crossing through New Paltz on a busy Saturday evening following a visit to a near by state park. As we were very hungry and tired we thought to stop and dine in this beautiful little town. We called couple of restaurants but they were not accepting customers without prior reservations. I am thankful because we called A Tavola Trattoria and they went out of their way to accommodate us and make a beautiful day even better. Rosemay is a treasure of a human, and our server Matt was exceptionally polite, witty and kind. When you add an incredible meal to a wonderful human experience, you have a spot that deserves one hundred stars not just 5. What a great place to be!!

Nice interior but the food takes forever even tho it was not busy, also the food tastes so bland. Especially for the price the food is just not good. Every dish I had just felt like random ingredients mixed in. Don’t understand how this place is 4.5
