Vals - New Orleans

Our group LOVED Vals! There were 10 of us and we were a bachelorette group. Our waiter, Anthony was amazing and extremely attentive to us.

The restaurant features lovely greenery that creates a calm atmosphere. The food was enjoyable, and the servers were friendly. The chips were particularly delicious, and the restrooms were clean.

This neighborhood gem has a large outdoor covered area. Thankfully, when hell's furnace is really cranked, you can sit in a spacious indoor area.I would definitely suggest getting their Queso Fundido. Super good and filling!Happy Hour has a nice selection of reduced priced drinks including $6 Ranch Waters! Yes please!

Delicious tacos, guacamole and margaritas. Service is quick and friendly. Reservations are important but sometimes you can get right in. The salsas are also tasty.

Our server was terrible. She spilled my drink on my cell phone, and didn't even apologize. Then she spilled my wife's drink two seco ds later. I think she may have been high or something. Socially inept, too... my children made this comment to me; when she first approached the table she just stood there, didn't introduce herself or say anything. Food was pretty good, but not cheap, and absolutely no sides at those prices. Outdoor dining was excellent. I will say the hostess es greeting and seating us were friendly...but it's expensive for the package, and yes, auto 20% tip, and service was so bad. I wonder if management realizes an automayic tip creates the perverse incentive for the servers not to care. My experience is that if food and service is good, people will choose to tip on their own, withou coercion. Hard to even get water refills in outside heat eating hot food.
