The Velvet Cactus - New Orleans

I wish I had taken pictures of this place! The food was absolutely amazing. It's like a high-end Mexican restaurant. The location and ambiance were great, with interesting artwork and a cozy atmosphere. The servers were friendly and quick. The pulled pork tacos with chili were delicious, and the margaritas were perfect. I had such a great experience here, it is now my new favorite place to eat. I went back and finally took some pictures too!

Food wasn't bad but they were extremely busy and our service suffered dearly. Our server was sweet as can be but clearly too busy or inexperienced. She made several mistakes. Got our food and drink order wrong. But her attitude made up for it. It took a long time to correct my spouses food and when he got it...it was cold. Our queso was cold too. I will give this place another try when they are not so busy. Staff was very nice and the scenery was quite charming.

Well this is certainly a fun place worth the 40 minute wait. Their margaritas are wonderful and you can drink it on the patio which is beautiful while you wait for your table. Our server was great and the food cones out fast. Their velvet steak tacos are Devine and that corn on the cob is like no other. We will definitely try this place again!!! Fun atmosphere too!!! Plantains and queso dip to die for!

Amazing festival-style-backyard-party setting! (Beautiful and eclectic. Welcoming staff and great service. The food is fresh and tasty and the restaurant is covid mindful. The salsa that comes to your table, with warm chips, is a special potion indeed! You'll ask for seconds. I'm sure. We had delicious margaritas and shrimp fajitas. The shrimp definitely have magic in them. They are so good...so good!

The restaurant is stunning and a wonderful spot to meet up with friends for happy hour. There are numerous games and plenty of room to relax and soak in the atmosphere. The food is mouthwatering, particularly the Quesadillas. They're huge and we couldn't even finish them. The drinks are tasty, although the margaritas can be a little light on the alcohol. The service is outstanding. I highly suggest paying a visit. If possible, come at night to fully enjoy the vibes!
